2022 RAM 1500 vs. Chevrolet Silverado 1500

If you’re not driving with the burly capabilities of a new 2022 RAM 1500, you’re not doing it right. It’s the latest hard-working pickup truck in the long lineup of 1500 legends, and this year, it’s a true power player. Five engine options and a 98% high-strength steel frame guarantee that this RAM 1500 isn’t lying low. Get more done — both on the worksite and during your weekend getaways — with its 12,750-pound maximum towing capacity (when outfitted with the available 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 engine with eTorque) and its 2,300-pound maximum payload rating.1 Plus, what’s the fastest you’ve ever gone 0-60 mph in your pickup? Can it beat the RAM 1500 TRX model’s final statistic of 4.5 seconds? We didn’t think so. Drag is further reduced with the available Active-Level™ Four Corner Air Suspension, a system that automatically lowers the truck to offer maximum efficiency, even at highway speeds. The job isn’t done if it isn’t completed with the adventurous 2022 RAM 1500.

We’re speechless — we didn’t think that the 2022 RAM 1500 would bulldoze the competition by this much. Just reading the performance numbers alone would make us want to drive the burly capabilities of a RAM 1500. It sports an additional engine option over the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, and its best available engine — the available supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI® V8 — produces 702 horsepower and 650 pound-foot of torque. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 model’s power numbers are in the mere 400s. It’s also missing an equivalent to the RAM 1500 pickup’s RamBox® Cargo Management System, an additional storage compartment located on the driver’s side of the bed that’s lockable, drainable and washable, plus it holds a 115-volt power outlet for a quick charge for your power tools. The RAM 1500 also holds the title as the Most Luxurious Truck in its Class,3 and gives the option to add heated and ventilated rear seats for back-seat passenger comfort.
